Proud to Be Community LEED-ers

our Credit Union is proud to announce that we recently received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for our newly remodeled Administrative Offices located at 3033 Cleveland Avenue in Santa Rosa, CA. LEED is part of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Building Rating System, which promotes a national standard in sustainable and green building practices.

RCU Executives and key business partners with our LEED award. (L to R): Rob Cantu, Western Builders; Brett Martinez, RCU President & CEO; Steve Stapp, RCU EVP/CFO; Tony Battaglia, Archumana, Inc.

RCU is the first commercial building in Santa Rosa to achieve LEED green certification, and we have won several additional awards for our innovative remodel, which included recycling building materials; using recycled building materials; water-efficient landscaping; automatic stepped lighting; Energy- Star compliant appliances; and water-efficient restroom facilities. The restroom and landscaping choices are anticipated to conserve 1.5 to 2 million gallons of water annually.

Our LEED certification is just one facet of our commitment to the environment. Additionally, we have employed green practices in the building of our new Cloverdale branch, we print many of our materials on recycled paper and we support recycling programs. We will soon be introducing a “Green Center” on our website, detailing our commitment as well as environmentally friendly tips.
